After The Fire

Philippians 4:11 (amp) Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am.

After the war it is easy to be at peace and contented… but this is where God wants us to “remain”… during the war. Within every crisis there is a secret place in God… wherewith we can be totally at peace and contented…. we must find that place in the midst of the fire. I have come to understand that having nothing and yet knowing I possess all things through and in Christ is the key. God wants us to learn to stand up and say… “I Know” in Whom I have believed and that “HE” is able. Walking through the middle of an onslaught of satan, yet…. Having a deep solid trust…in knowing that the King of all Kings is still on the throne. A song comes to mind… (“He lives” see the lyrics below.) I serve a RISEN Savior….. Jesus is His Name…. If you don’t have this peace, this contentment and assurance in the midst of the storm…maybe, just maybe… He (Jesus) is the answer. Ask Him to come into your heart and to forgive “ALL” your sin…. Jesus is faithful and loving and wants you as His own. Sharon Middleton

On Philippians 4:11….(From Believer’s Bible Commentary) In handling the whole subject of finances, it is lovely to see the delicacy and courtesy which Paul employs. He does not want them to think that he is complaining about any shortage of funds. Rather, he would have them know that he is quite independent of such mundane circumstances. He had learned … to be content, no matter what his financial condition might be. Contentment is really greater than riches, for “if contentment does not produce riches, it achieves the same object by banishing the desire for them.”
“It is a blessed secret when the believer learns how to carry a high head with an empty stomach, an upright look with an empty pocket, a happy heart with an unpaid salary, joy in God when men are faithless” (Selected).

Alfred Ackley wrote the lyrics to He Lives!

I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today;
I know that He is living whatever men may say;
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him, He’s always near.

He lives, He lives,
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives,
Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.

In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And tho’ my heart grows weary I never will despair;
I know that He is leading thro’ all the stormy blast,
The day of His appearing will come at last.

Your Reasonable Service Is….

Your Reasonable Service Is…

Romans 12:1 (amp) I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

Romans 12:2(KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

God is saying to us in Romans 12:1-2 that we are to make a decisive dedication of our bodies, which include all our members and faculties. (Any and all of the powers of the body and mind) After all God created us in His likeness. He wants every part of our being to be available and dedicated for His service. God takes care of me in all His wondrous power… so shouldn’t I make all my power and abilities available to Him and for service to God and His people. He wants us to serve Him with our full faculties and our whole heart. (Romans 12:2 tells us that this can happen by one thing! ….but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind~ Renewing of my mind is to happen by spending time getting to know God and His Word (Bible). Going to Gods Word in times of problems that we can’t work out in our own finite mind. God will lead us to the very solution that we need in our life, through reading and studying His Word. That is where we will find what feeds and trains our minds…our faculties, which have been reborn in and by the Spirit of God.

I am renewing myself to Gods Word this morning, due to becoming lax and a little negligent of my time with Him during the last 6 or 7 months while I was ill. I want to be and do my best for my Heavenly Father… because that is what I get from Him! His upmost for me is more than enough, and my upmost for Him is due Him every day of my life… rain or shine!

Definition: settling an issue; producing a definite result. (of a person) having or showing the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.

synonyms: resolute, firm, strong-minded, strong-willed, determined; purposeful, forceful, dead set, unwavering, unyielding, unbending, inflexible, unshakable!

BTW: Do you “Know” my Savior? Jesus is His Name. The Only Name given… whereby men can be saved. A simple thing to do. From your heart… Admit that you are a sinner in need of a Savior, ask Him to forgive you of all your sin. Invite Him to come into you heart and lead you every day by His Spirit. He loves you and wants to walk with you through the rest of your life.

Intelligence Of The Heart

Intelligence Of The Heart

Intellectuals really mean little to me, in fact I’m bored with a lot of their conversation.  So many times it has no heart substance, it’s just a lot of information that I just don’t care about.  I am impressed with people who speak from their heart, even if it doesn’t sound all that intelligent, or they don’t use correct words or pronunciation.  Who really cares about that stuff!?  Not me.  I’m more interested in the heart/feelings in or behind what they are trying to say.  I want to hear people who speak from the abundance of their heart, not the stored up information from their head. You can feel that if it comes from an abundance of love that’s deep in their heart, it really means something and it moves people in their heart… their spirit. That is the goal we should be striving for, isn’t it? To actually reach the heart(spirit) of people, so they will be open to God. They are speaking from what they truly feel and believe, not what they think will impress.  I guess what I’m trying to say is…  I love to listen to people full of love and truth, not boring facts, and useless information, intended to build up their own ego or whoever is hearing them.  Not intending to be rude or offend….  just see people who just will not give credence to anyone but those who have letters behind their name.  Important: Listen from your heart and you will more likely hear from their heart!

Matthew 12:34-b (kjv)…for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Luke 6:45 (kjv) A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man

out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Acts 4:13-16 (kjv)  Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

Peter and John were considered unlearned and ignorant men…. Yet, God used them mightily! The Spirit of God draws  men unto Himself…

By The Way:  Do you “KNOW” my Savior?  Gods Holy Word says Jesus is The Only Name Given Whereby Men Can Be Saved!!!!  THE “ONLY” NAME GIVEN~

 1Corinthians 13:1  IF I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

Following From Huffington Post:
No matter how educated people are, if they don’t have compassion, love of all people, a gift of kindness, and a forgiving and accepting spirit, Whether they have a PHD or an education from life. Heart intelligence is not connected to the small mind, big mind, or even an open mind. It is something discovered only in being, experiencing, and expressing our heart. It is listening, trusting, and making friends with both the fun and difficult parts of life. Instead of blaming and judging, forgiveness and compassion build heart intelligence. Acceptance, appreciation, honesty, and humility are practiced. Service, patience, courage, and simplicity are each paths in the life of our heart.

1Peter 5:8-9~a  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith,

As Christians, whether we know it or not, we are always at war…  with our arch enemy, satan.  And he is vigilantly seeking an opportunity to devour us.  But God has given us the weapons of and for our warfare… if we will just use them. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds).  Our warfare is accomplished through God and the utilization of His weapons…..and they are mighty!  God’s Word tells us that they are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds!  We must remember that our fight is not against flesh and blood!  Our battle begins in our mind.  Satan knows how to feed our mind, our thoughts with his lies and deceit.  If we listen to his lies for very long, we can begin to believe them. We may give place to them, thus, building on the initial lie planted.  Before long, satan has built himself a little kingdom, in which if allowed to continue, can turn into a stronghold.

God intends for us to be diligent, be vigilant, catching satan in his lies early on, and quickly dealing with him and his lies.  As we read in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, God tells us how to get this done.  The idea is to stop him dead in his tracks with the first planted lie.  If we let it stay, we will begin to mull it over and meditate on it until we begin to let it (lies) set in and take root.  The longer you allow his lies, his voice, to toy with you, the more you can buy into it.

2Corinthians 10:3-5 (amp)   For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

2Corinthians 10:3-5 (kjv) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

With the first suggestion (LIE) he speaks to us…. God tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 to cast down imaginations, strongs concordance says to take down, demolish and destroy it.  Imaginations can work overtime in our head, in reasonings, computations, thought and our conscience.  Sometimes I have just shouted out, shut up satan, in Jesus Name, be quiet and go.  Stop and listen to the voice… is it exalting itself against the knowledge of God.  Gods Word says, bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.  Learn what God says you are, by reading and studying His Word.  That is how we can quickly recognize the lies…. when we have Gods Word(Bible) to compare it to.  The more of Gods Word you know, the more you will recognize satans lies. His lies cover a lot of territory.  He brings accusations against us and those we love and know.  He brings thoughts to cause us to fear, even though Gods Word says to Fear Not!

Isaiah 41:10 (kjv) Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

BTW: Do you know my Savior? Jesus is His Name.  The only Name given whereby men can be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Act 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Anointed With Fresh Oil

Lord, I fail you in so many ways.  It’s my heart’s cry, Lord, to grow more like you every day and in every way. I long  to be this kind of Christian!  I want to be uncompromisible, enduring, upright and useful, Lord…. and especially fruitful and flourishing in all that you have for me to do.  I desire to be durable, stable, and incorruptible in you and in my daily walk…. and above all…. I want to be anointed with fresh oil, bringing forth fruit even in my old age!

If God called you… that calling is still there.  If you seems to have lost your fire or grown cold…  pray in agreement with the scripture I have posted here. Psalms 9:5-15.  It’s definitely talking to me, maybe it’s talking to you.

Psalms 92:5-15  (amp) How great are Your doings, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep. A man in his rude and uncultivated state knows not, neither does a [self-confident] fool understand this: That though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to be destroyed forever. But You, Lord, are on high forever. For behold, Your adversaries, O Lord, for behold, Your enemies shall perish; all the evildoers shall be scattered. But my horn (emblem of excessive strength and stately grace) You have exalted like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil. My eye looks upon those who lie in wait for me; my ears hear the evildoers that rise up against me.
The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible]. Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God. [Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment]. [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

BTW: Do you know my Savior? Jesus is His Name.  The only Name given whereby men can be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Act 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I’ve been reminded this week of some sacrifices I made in life.  Funny, but I never considered them sacrifices…  To me they were choices I made to live our life in a way that made sense.  When My husband and I first married, we were both very young…. very young!!! We started our family right away.  We planned it that way.  We wanted to have our children young, enjoy them, raise them, and we would still be young enough to enjoy our life once they were grown and out of the nest!  Most people get married, wait 4 or 5 years to start their family, to travel, have some fun, etc.   Like I said, choices!  In this life, you have to figure out what works for you, what’s most important to you… and your mate.

My husband and I made the choice for me to be a stay at home mom.  That took sacrificing…  one pay check, my husband working harder to make an income that we could live with, learning to live with less money, learning to tell ourselves no to things we wanted, not needed….me having more responsibility for the kids, each of us doing without things that we would like to have, but could live without….  we bought a small home, nothing fancy about it. We used coupons, shopped from a list, passed up T-Bone steaks, but still ate well.  I could go on and on. We shared one car for many years.   When I needed to use the car, I loaded up my two kids and took him to work, and picked him up after work.  We made it all work.  Sure it was tough at times, but you do what you need to do to live the kind of life you have chosen.  We were the last to get color television, the last to get cable TV, etc.  We planned and saved to take some fun family vacations.  We loved to go camping and fishing, which made great family time.

My point in all of this…. we must make a choice early on in what we want in life, what’s most important to us, as a couple and as a family.  With that comes compromise and sacrifice, whether you choose to both work at  jobs, to have all the toys in life, or not.  It’s all a matter of life choices.  When you are making these choices, make sure that your choices only affect you.  When your choices affect other people’s lives, extended families lives, your kids lives….  you need to regroup, rethink and ask yourself, who should be making sacrifices here, for “MY” life choices?  Your kids did not get a vote in this life choice, but most definitely are affected.  Your parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. did not get a say in your life choice, so are they being affected? When you and your mate make a choice on how you will live your life….  “You” alone are responsible for it.  The sacrifices made should be made by both of you, and only you.  If your life plan involves the sacrificing of others outside your home, you are affecting their life plans, goals, and dreams.  Even if they are sacrificing their life dreams out of love for you…  it is still depriving them of living out their choices and dreams they have worked for and sacrificed for.

For most people, it takes years to accumulate the toys in life.  Today it seems that people want all of it, without waiting and without sacrifice…..  this can lead to financial situations that you will have to painfully deal with….  and you alone are responsible for!  You made the life choice to rush into wanting it all before you were financially stable.

Choices! Sacrifice!  It’s in your ballpark, it’s in your hands, and you alone will have to pay the consequences later if you get it wrong!!!

I usually write on spiritual matters.  But guess what?  This is a major spiritual matter!  In your life choices, it would be a good idea to get God involved in the decisions. Pray and ask Him for wisdom and understanding in all matters in you and your families life….  and then… listen and follow His lead!
