Anointed With Fresh Oil

Lord, I fail you in so many ways.  It’s my heart’s cry, Lord, to grow more like you every day and in every way. I long  to be this kind of Christian!  I want to be uncompromisible, enduring, upright and useful, Lord…. and especially fruitful and flourishing in all that you have for me to do.  I desire to be durable, stable, and incorruptible in you and in my daily walk…. and above all…. I want to be anointed with fresh oil, bringing forth fruit even in my old age!

If God called you… that calling is still there.  If you seems to have lost your fire or grown cold…  pray in agreement with the scripture I have posted here. Psalms 9:5-15.  It’s definitely talking to me, maybe it’s talking to you.

Psalms 92:5-15  (amp) How great are Your doings, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep. A man in his rude and uncultivated state knows not, neither does a [self-confident] fool understand this: That though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to be destroyed forever. But You, Lord, are on high forever. For behold, Your adversaries, O Lord, for behold, Your enemies shall perish; all the evildoers shall be scattered. But my horn (emblem of excessive strength and stately grace) You have exalted like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil. My eye looks upon those who lie in wait for me; my ears hear the evildoers that rise up against me.
The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible]. Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God. [Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment]. [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

BTW: Do you know my Savior? Jesus is His Name.  The only Name given whereby men can be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Act 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I’ve been reminded this week of some sacrifices I made in life.  Funny, but I never considered them sacrifices…  To me they were choices I made to live our life in a way that made sense.  When My husband and I first married, we were both very young…. very young!!! We started our family right away.  We planned it that way.  We wanted to have our children young, enjoy them, raise them, and we would still be young enough to enjoy our life once they were grown and out of the nest!  Most people get married, wait 4 or 5 years to start their family, to travel, have some fun, etc.   Like I said, choices!  In this life, you have to figure out what works for you, what’s most important to you… and your mate.

My husband and I made the choice for me to be a stay at home mom.  That took sacrificing…  one pay check, my husband working harder to make an income that we could live with, learning to live with less money, learning to tell ourselves no to things we wanted, not needed….me having more responsibility for the kids, each of us doing without things that we would like to have, but could live without….  we bought a small home, nothing fancy about it. We used coupons, shopped from a list, passed up T-Bone steaks, but still ate well.  I could go on and on. We shared one car for many years.   When I needed to use the car, I loaded up my two kids and took him to work, and picked him up after work.  We made it all work.  Sure it was tough at times, but you do what you need to do to live the kind of life you have chosen.  We were the last to get color television, the last to get cable TV, etc.  We planned and saved to take some fun family vacations.  We loved to go camping and fishing, which made great family time.

My point in all of this…. we must make a choice early on in what we want in life, what’s most important to us, as a couple and as a family.  With that comes compromise and sacrifice, whether you choose to both work at  jobs, to have all the toys in life, or not.  It’s all a matter of life choices.  When you are making these choices, make sure that your choices only affect you.  When your choices affect other people’s lives, extended families lives, your kids lives….  you need to regroup, rethink and ask yourself, who should be making sacrifices here, for “MY” life choices?  Your kids did not get a vote in this life choice, but most definitely are affected.  Your parents, grandparents, siblings, etc. did not get a say in your life choice, so are they being affected? When you and your mate make a choice on how you will live your life….  “You” alone are responsible for it.  The sacrifices made should be made by both of you, and only you.  If your life plan involves the sacrificing of others outside your home, you are affecting their life plans, goals, and dreams.  Even if they are sacrificing their life dreams out of love for you…  it is still depriving them of living out their choices and dreams they have worked for and sacrificed for.

For most people, it takes years to accumulate the toys in life.  Today it seems that people want all of it, without waiting and without sacrifice…..  this can lead to financial situations that you will have to painfully deal with….  and you alone are responsible for!  You made the life choice to rush into wanting it all before you were financially stable.

Choices! Sacrifice!  It’s in your ballpark, it’s in your hands, and you alone will have to pay the consequences later if you get it wrong!!!

I usually write on spiritual matters.  But guess what?  This is a major spiritual matter!  In your life choices, it would be a good idea to get God involved in the decisions. Pray and ask Him for wisdom and understanding in all matters in you and your families life….  and then… listen and follow His lead!

My Vital Necessity

Heavenly Father, You are my vital necessity….my vital need! Daily will I seek you, Lord, as my VITAL necessity. Lord, help me to not neglect this great Salvation that you prepared for and offered to us. I give you Praise Lord, for your Word sustains me and educates me on how to stand day by day and especially in the evil day. How do people go through their daily lives and not see Who You are and what you want for your people… those who choose to seek you, live for you and serve you with their whole heart….. then shall they find you.

I am not a person who loves half heartedly. I love from the depths of my heart. Family is my lifes breath! I want to know that when my Savior returns for His people…. we all go!!! smile emoticon But in the meantime… back on earth~ I want them to “KNOW” God on a daily, personal level…. for that is where we find heart peace, life abundantly and JOY unspeakable and full of glory!!!!!

BTW: Do you know my Savior? Jesus is His Name. The only Name given, whereby men can be saved. It’s a simple thing to do… realize that you’re a sinner, in need of a Savior… ask for His forgiveness and accept Him as your “personal” Savior. Then seek Him daily and study His “WORDS” in the Bible…. He has a plan for your life… how will you know what that is unless you seek God about it… and then listen.

Hebrew 2:3 How shall we escape [appropriate retribution] if we neglect and refuse to pay attention to such a great salvation [as is now offered to us, letting it drift past us forever]?

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (amp) For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [AS A VITAL NECESSITY] and find Me WHEN YOU SEARCH FOR ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART. I will be found by you, says the Lord…..

It Costs Nothing To Say Something Kind

Psalms 19:14  Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Strong’s concordance says that the word, “acceptable” in this bible verse also means delight… God wants our spoken words to be acceptable, but more than that …He (God) wants our words to be delightful to hear.  He is always listening!

My Heavenly  Father has been working on me and my mouth for some time!!  It’s hard to walk in obedience to God, when he has given to you, people to love, but also who challenge you often in this “Work in progress” that God is doing in our lives.  But then… how can we practice walking in Gods kind of love and keeping our negative and hurting words to ourselves, if we don’t have someone to practice on!  My flesh wants to lash out… but my Heavenly Father ask that I make my words, ALL MY WORDS, delightful to hear… not only to Him, but to those around me.  He also requires that what I am meditating on in my mind and in my heart ….  be acceptable in HIS sight!!

Lord, I ask you to check me in my spirit before I open my mouth to speak… but even more, Lord… help me to always focus, thus meditate on whatsoever is true, whatsoever is honest, whatsoever is just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report….  look for the virtue in people, look for something to praise and think on these things… in their lives. Remember that our wonderful Savior, Jesus, said… You without sin cast the first stone.  Our hurtful, cutting, degrading words are like stones….  heaping on pain, embarrassment, fear, hurt feelings, broken hearts….. Gods Word also says that an offended person is harder to be won over than a strong city, and [their] contentions separate them like the bars of a castle.

Philippians 4:7-9  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Proverbs 18:19-21 A brother offended is harder to be won over than a strong city, and [their] contentions separate them like the bars of a castle. A man’s [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]. [Matt. 12:37.]

It costs nothing to say something kind. Even less to shut up altogether……Castle

MARRIAGE~                                                                                                                                                     Not on the rocks…  But on the Rock Christ Jesus

I think it’s harder when you’re young. You’re raised with different rules, parents, situations, lifestyles, ….the list can go on and on! It comes down to one thing. ~LOVE How much do you love each other, how hard are you willing to try, what’s most important to you, will the potential next marriage work any better… if you run into the same problems, or worse problems!!! My husband and I had a lot of things to work through, which could have led to divorce. But we talked… really talked. And we listened… really listened. And the most important part… we “LOVED” really loved. Words are easy to say. Don’t just listen to your mates words… but listen to and analyze your own words and intent. Listen to each others hearts… not words!! As we are heading towards our “50th” year of marriage…. I’m so glad neither of us gave up. The scripture below defines so clearly what “LOVE” really is… according to GOD…….

1 Corinthians 13~
IF I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody). Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God’s love in me), I gain nothing. Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].
For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect), and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect). But when the complete and perfect (total) comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded). When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; now that I have become a man, I am done with childish ways and have put them aside. For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim (blurred) reflection [of reality as in a riddle or enigma], but then [when perfection comes] we shall see in reality and face to face! Now I know in part (imperfectly), but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood [by God]. And so faith, hope, love abide [faith–conviction and belief respecting man’s relation to God and divine things; hope–joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation; love–true affection for God and man, growing out of God’s love for and in us], these three; but the greatest of these is love.
