Light Set On A Hill
The Word of God says that we are the light of the world, a city set on a hill, people whocannot be hidden. You have filled us with your manifested glory and marvelous are your works in us. I am thankful, Lord, that I am purchased with great price. You have chosen me as your very own child, called to go forth and do mighty deeds and exploits, displaying virtues and perfections of You who have called us out of the obscure darkness and into your marvelous light. A peculiar people, treasures in earthen vessels, are we, your people According to your word, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are marvelous in me, and my soul knows it right well. If this is all true, if my soul knows right well, all these things you say about us in your word, then why are so many of your people down trodden and discouraged? Why are so many of your chosen people, who are called by your name, sanctified, and set apart, living a defeated life? Why aren’t we running the race set before us with joy and zeal, expecting to win the high calling of God?! With a king such as you in control of our future, where is our voice of victory shouting praises to our God? We have left our first love. We have allowed our feet to get off track. For this to happen, we have had to believe satans lies, meant to discourage us and distort the truth of God’s Word. We have lost sight of the vision. Without a vision my people perish is what God’s Word tells us. We have allowed ourselves to lose sight of the prize set before us. We have grown weary in well doing! Why? How can we allow this to happen? The gun shot rings and the race is on. We take off with gusto. But grow weary and begin to slow down and stumble as we run, slower and slower. God said to run the race set before us. We need times of refreshing to encourage and strengthen ourselves.
Psalm 23:2-3 tells us, “He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul”.
We need times of restoration, times spent in Gods Word, times spent in His presence. We must pace ourselves, as a runner in a race. God gave us all we need to run and finish the course set before us. It’s in your hand and in your mouth. What will you do with it?
By the way~~ do you know my Savior? Jesus is His Name!
